What is a Demat Account ?

Demat account permit you to buy, sell and transact shares without the endless paperwork and delays. It is also secure , safe, and convenient.

The term Demat, refers to a dematerialised account.

In a demat account shares or stocks and securities are held in electronic form instead of taking actual possession of physical certificates. The demat  decrease brokerage charge, makes pledging of shares easier, allow quick ownership of securities on settlement resulting in increased liquidity, avoid confusion in the ownership title of securities ( stocks ), and provides easy receipt of public issue allotments.

Demat account is  a  safe and convenient way to hold securities, Elimination of danger associated with physical certificates such as fake securities, bad delivery, thefts etc , delays. Automatic credit into demat account of shares, arising out of bonus/ consolidation/split/ merger etc.
