Tata Teleservices Launch 3G In All 9 Telecom Zones This YearTata Tele, India 4th-major mobile company, will finish rollout of third generation wifi data services throughout all 9 telecommunications zones this yr, the firm said on Wed.

Tata Teleservices, 26per cent possessed by Japan NTT DoCoMO, received rights in an auction earlier this year to provide 3G services in 9 of India twenty two selected telcom areas for Rs 5864 cr.

Indias leading mobile operator BhartiAirtel intends to start 3G services prior to the end of 2010 while operator Vodafone-Essar is eyeing a start in the Jan-March 2011 quarter.

The firm needs to invest about USD 500 mn for rollout of 3G wifi data solutions by the close of 2010, MD Anil Sardana mentioned on Wednesday.
