Cement has switched more expensive by around Rs25 a bag
Cement has switched more expensive by around Rs25 a bag for consumers in south India on account of the continuing agitation in AP for a Telangana.
Cement is sold at Rs280-Rs310 per bag in comparison with Rs265-Rs285 last month, based on industry sources.
The raise in cost has been primarily pushed by acute deficiency of coal for cement firms in AP, that cater to need in key southern_markets apart from AP.
“As coal supply has been touched on account of the common strike in Singareni, the industry needs to import coal – that is 30per cent more expensive – for clinker manufacturing,” Mr S.V.S. Shetty, Ceo, Anjani Portland Cement Limited, informed Business Line.
