BMW planning to increase investments in India to Rs 1.8 bnGerman luxurious car producer BMW planned to raise its investment’s in India to Rs 1.8 bln by end of 2012.

The firm, that began its Indian functions by establishing a manufacturing plant close to Chennai in March 2007, has spent close to Rs 1.1 bln, BMW India mentioned in a statement here.

“Until Sept 2010,BMW Group has invested Rs 1.1 bln . BMW Groups investment in India will be improved to Rs 1.8 bln by the end of 2012”, it mentioned..

The BMW-Chennai unit makes the BMW three Series as well as BMW five Series sedans in petrol as well as diesel variants. Through end of the yr, the Chennai plant would additionally make BMW X1, it said.
