Active Stock

Share in which there are actually regular and day-to-day dealings, as distinguished from partly effective stocks in which dealings (buy-sell) aren’t so frequent.

Most ‘shares or stocks’ of blue chip (leading) companies will be active, especially those that are sensitive to economic and political activities and so are, as a result, subject to unexpected price movements.

A few market analysts would specify active stocks as those that are bought as well as sold a minimum of 3 times a week. Simple to buy or sell.
